Course Overview Ceramic engineering is the science and technology of creating objects from inorganic, non-metallic materials. This is done either by the action of heat, or at lower temperatures using precipitation reactions from high-purity chemical solutions. The term includes the purification of raw materials, the study and production of the chemical compounds concerned, their formation into components and the study of their structure, composition and properties Features Students remain in this country also serving with local & multinational companies with reputation besides Advanced knowledge of ceramic materials Develop maintenance and testing procedures for ceramic products Design new ways to use Bangladeshi raw materials instead of foreign raw materials Making a collaboration with biomedical Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair Scope It is an interesting branch of engineering because it involves study of traditional ceramics & Advanced Ceramics including with computers, electrical, and communication. Advance ceramic is an interesting field with wide research topics. Covering subject: Ceramic Engineering Materials‐1 Ceramic Engineering Materials‐2 Ceramic Equipment & Body Preparation Mining and Geological Engineering Ceramic Equipment & Body Preparation Ceramic Test & Calculation Ceramic Engineering Chemistry Refractories Model & Mould Fabrication‐2 Lab/workshop information The department consists of one lab which is well equipped with modern instruments, so that the students can understand the practical aspects of the subjects.
